***

Patricia Zapata

I haven't go out looking for type to photograph in a while, however, I just found this amazing typographic work on JPG Magazine online. The designer Lisa Rienermann found the negative space in between the houses formed the letters when she was in Barcelona.
She must have great enthusiasm in typography and fantastic imaginations to create such an inspiring project.
JPG Magazine.)

I took this photo on my Taipei trip last fall. I didn't go in to the store because I was in a hurry to meet someone(I can't remember who). Anyway, I like that they call it "studio A" and felt like running to an old friend in a foreign city when I saw the Apple logo. :)
I found this nice calligraphic type at a Japanese restaurant in Taipei. It was on a dessert plate. Literally it meant "extremely happy soup".
I like this kind of hand-written types. There are not as many the Chinese fonts as English/Western letters/alphabets that is designed for printing or computer use. But the hand-written types are always so beautiful because of the long history of Chinese calligraphy. They are more like art.
This tea cup has been left in the sink for a week. The tea stain created the letter B that laid on its back. We see type and words everywhere in our life. You just need to pay attention to the details and add some imaginations.

This is a sign for a jazz bar named "upstairs" in Montreal, which is located at the basement of the building.
Humorous and clever design.

This is an embossed logo(making memories) on the tin of a scrapbooking tool. I used the rubbing technique to transfer the image on paper.
Rubbing types always feel historical, as if it just be found in the ancient architecture.
