just wanna say hi

Sometimes, we just want to say "hi" to someone. Nothing big, nothing much. Just want to let her/him knows that we still care about her/him. We never forget about her/him.

It's been a long time since last time I played with my Gocco print machine. There are so many ideas of design and images in my mind, I just don't have time to make them real. I made these giraffe cards last weekend. I am really into drawing animals these days, I plan to create more art and products with animal theme.

有時候，我們只是想跟某人說聲嗨。不用說得太多，也不想說得太搧情，只是簡單地想讓他/她知道，我仍然關心著他/她，我沒有忘記了他/她。

自從上次印了一套卡片之後，已經很久沒有碰我的Gocco機了。有許多想法和圖畫在我的腦子裡，只是一直沒有時間去把它們做出來。上週末我印了這套長頸鹿卡片，最近我很喜歡畫動物，計畫接下來要創作更多以動物為主題的圖畫和商品。

This weekend I made some new Gocco prints.

這個週末在玩Gocco印刷。

I designed the original on Illustrator, then made a master from it.

我先在Illustrator 設計黑白原稿，然後用來製網。

At the first time it wasn't very successful because the strokes were too thin, so the color was smugged on the print-outs. I went back to Illustrator to change the size of stroke to 2pt, then it worked out beaufully.

第一次製網不是很成功，因為原稿的線條太細了，印刷時油墨糊在一起，把線條都蓋住了。我又回去Illustrator把線條的粗細改成2pt，這回印出來的效果就很好。

I mixed colors myself, also added up new inks during the printing process, so the colors are different on each print.

我自己調油墨的顏色，並且在印刷時隨時加入新顏色，因此每一張印出來的顏色都不盡相同。

My bedroom is also my studio. There're not enough space for a crafter like me, so all my prints were lying on my bed waiting to dry.

我的臥室同時兼任工作室，對於愛做手工藝的我來說，實在需要更大的空間。很無奈地，所有印刷出來的卡片，都霸佔了我的床，等著油墨風乾。

After some trimming and folding process, they will be ready soon for sale on my Etsy shop.

等油墨乾了以後，這些卡片還需要經過裁切和折疊，也許過一兩天，我就會把它們放在我的網路商店裡讓大家購買。

By the way, I finally got my dream-paper trimmer last week. I had 40% off coupon for Michaels. This rotary paper trimmer is so nice and handy, which is made by 'making memories'. It has self-sharpening blade so I never have to change new blades.

順帶一提，上星期我終於買到夢寐以求的裁紙器，因為剛好拿到Michaels的六折折價券。這裁紙器的好處是不用換刀片，而且裁切的尺寸精準，有了這台巨無霸，不管是做學校的作業或是其他的手工藝，都方便許多。

我愛gocco

上週五收到從日本寄來的Gocco，這是我夢寐以求的迷你絹印機，原產日本，據說已經停產，而且在美國很難找到，是一款瀕臨絕種的手工藝產品。關於整個拯救Gocco的歷史，可以在這裡找到。

Gocco有不同的機種，我買的是PG-5，可以印明信片大小的紙品。以前在台灣念美工科的時候學過絹印，可是當時並沒有太大的興趣。然而自從在網路上看到很多藝術家用Gocco創作出很多有趣好看的作品，勾起我重新學習絹印的興趣。

星期天在家，用了一個傍晚的時間，第一次試著使用Gocco，印出這些明信片和卡片。像老式相機一樣，Gocco是利用燈泡閃光來曝光製網，我在壓下機器讓燈泡曝光之前，真是又緊張又期待。在"噗"一聲的同時，一道強光從Gocco爆出，然後，我的手繪圖畫就炙印到絹網上了.

我很喜歡印出來的效果，很簡單的線條，手工的自然感，加上每一次蓋印的壓力不同，油墨附著在紙張上的濃度有些微的不同，然而在這些些微差異之間，每一張印刷品都有統一性。

能夠手工複製自己的繪畫作品，但是又非無限量的大量生產，就是我喜歡上絹印的原因之一。

Gocco非常容易使用，從製網到印刷，全在這小小一台機器上完成。雖然能印刷的面積不大，但是卻有無限潛能。我看過有人用Gocco，印出非常繁複非常專業的藝術作品。玩過一次Gocco，我就迷上了，計畫接下來要印明信片、卡片和月曆。
