[設計] Typography Book（我設計的第一本書）

This is my new-born baby, my first handmade book, the project from the Typography class.

這本書是我的第一本手工書，是Typography課的作業，也是我三個月來的心血結晶。

After 12 weeks working on the contents, 3 hours on printing, 6 hours on binding, some bleeding and swollen fingertips, dark circle under eyes, frustrations and stress...finally, here is the book.

花了十二週的時間製作內容，三個小時印刷，六個小時手工裝訂，加上被針戳流血腫起來的手指，越來越深的黑眼圈，還有無法計算的沮喪和壓力，終於，這本書誕生了。

The whole book was done by myself. I didn't consider to send my book to Kinko's or Office Max for binding at all. I trimed each page with x-acto knife, then hand sewn the book. I used Bodoni Ornament to create the pattern for front and back cover, then covered it with vellum paper.

打從一開始，我就決定要完全自己製作這本書，因此不考慮把書送到一些印刷店去裝訂。我用美工刀一頁一頁慢慢裁切，然後手縫裝訂。封面的圖案是用Bodoni Ornament的字形去設計的，上面再覆蓋一張半透明羊皮紙。

I used three different paper for each two chapters. It turned out very pretty. I am just so obsessed with paper. There are total four different kinds of paper in this little book.

因為對紙無可救藥的迷戀，我跑遍半個Orlando去尋找適合的紙張。我用三種不同的紙在每兩個章節，加上封面的羊皮紙，這本小書總共用了四種不同的紙。

On the title page of each chapter, I had hand-stitched the chapter number, and hand-written the title.

除了電腦排版的字體，還有手寫字和刺繡(是叫刺繡嗎？)。

這本書不只是讓人用眼睛看，還可以用手去觸摸和感覺。

Last chapter was printed in color.

最後一章是彩色印刷(貴啊...)。

I was tearing at the moment when I finally finished making this book (that was 4 o'clock in the morning).

當我在凌晨四點，終於完成這本書的那一剎那，真是忍不住熱淚盈眶啊！

看起來好讚的手工書，我以前也做過很陽春的手工書，哈哈...沒你這麼辛苦勒，可是做手工書有種很有趣的樂趣，對了，你說的專門工具有哪些啊？我一點都不知道，想來我也是那種土法煉鋼的那種...^_^"a

謝謝，在完成這個作業之後，我也愛上做手工書了，不過在開始正式加入做手工書的行列之前，第一件重要的事，是要去買專業的製作工具，才不會又把自己戳得遍體鱗傷耶。
